The Compassionate Gender Transformative Education System (CGTES) is designed to drive systemic and societal change towards a more equitable and inclusive society, embedding gender equality in every facet of education and community life. The programme aims to nurture gender equality and social inclusion by transforming school systems, bringing in holistic education based on dignity, ability and opportunity. Each programme is designed to boost self-agency, bodily autonomy, and active citizenship, making students work-ready through 21st-century education.
CGTES aims to build a gender-transformative education based on ‘whole child development’. A gender-transformative education system acknowledges that girls are nested in environments that impact them to produce positive change. Hence it is important to engage meaningfully with every stakeholder, including the influencers and enablers, using peace and compassion to avoid apathy, resistance and backlash to the positive change.
CGTES achieves this through five pillars:
While we aim to design girls’ education, our goal is to simultaneously mould boys’ masculinities and sensitise teachers, officials, and the systems to solve complex intergenerational disparities through compassion and human values. Our focus is to instil human duties and human dignity as paramount in systems change.
